Our Class Trip to Wooster

During fall quarter, all the first years got to take a field trip (ha--and you thought those ended with grade school) to Wooster, Ohio. OSU has some research and agricultural facilities up there, so we went for a visit. We got to see several different food animal operations: Cow/Calf, Beef Feedlot, Dairy, Poultry, Hogs, and Sheep. Here are some pictures from our trip!

We had to wear these lovely plastic boots at each farm we stopped at. This is to prevent bringing any outside disease onto a farm.

Here are some sheep.

Here are some dairy cows. (Isn't this commentary great?)

Here's a calf ... a "byproduct" of a dairy operation.

And I'd have to say that my favorites were the pigs ... aren't they just great?

This is Brandy and a pig. Aren't they just cute!
